How did you guys get into DJing? Did one of you take on to it more naturally than the other?
Our dad was a music producer who always played music around the house. We would play with his DJ equipment when we were babies like it was a toy before we knew how to actually use the equipment. It was a natural progression for both us to want to learn how to DJ.
What’s the biggest difference between you two that most people wouldn’t know?
We have two totally different personalities. When we were born our parents gave us nick names. Kayla was named the Dalai Lama because she was very calm and cool and Amira was named the Fire Cracker because she was more aggressive and in your face.

We have had many amazing experiences and we couldn’t put a rank next to them. Each opportunity we have is unique and we appreciate all of them equally. Deejaying in front of 25,000 for the Knicks, Being featured in Harper’s Bazaar and Elle USA for our sense of style, and performing on the iconic Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon are all amazing opportunities that many people won’t experience in their entire life so we are appreciative of all of them.
Describe your personal style in 3 words.
Fashion Forward, Stylish, Eclectic
You guys are only 12 yet you’ve reached such an amazing point in life, doing things people couldn’t even dream of. What’s in it for your futures?
We have been blessed to accomplish many things at such a young age but we are just getting started. In the near future we want to expand into TV, Fashion, Animation, Concerts. We are inspired to not only entertain but to become successful business women! We also have plans to attend Harvard University and pursue becoming lawyers & doctors.
Most enjoyable song you’ve DJ’d to?
There are many songs we enjoy to play because music is the sound track of people's lives. Songs remind people of different moments and experience sthey had in their lives. I think some of the most memorable songs we play are songs that people don’t expect us to play but connects with them on an emotional level.
Do you guys ever feel out of sync DJ’ing for an audience that usually is much older than you?
To become a very good DJ you have to be able to read the room and audience you are playing to. You have to select the songs that fit and speak directly to your audience regardless of your age. We never feel out of sync when we DJ because we prepare our set list with our dad and make sure we are selecting music that fits the audience. Our dad has educated us and exposed us to many different genres of music that are both classic and current. Adults are often surprised when we DJ because they didn’t expect us to play or know some of the songs we play.
